Recognizing Reinventors Recap

On July 23rd, 2020, Reinvented Magazine hosted our first annual virtual award ceremony, “Recognizing Reinventors”! This event celebrated Reinvented’s content and volunteers. It also awarded women who have performed incredible feats in STEM fields.

Reinvented Magazine would like to give a special thanks to the National Girls Collaborative Project for being our presenting sponsor for this event! The award ceremony would not have been a success without their support, and we look forward to working together as partners in the future.

Key highlights from the event included:

  • Announcements of the nominees, finalists, and winners for our various awards.

  • Special presentations by Ruthe Farmer, Chief Evangelist for CSforALL and Olivia Pavco-Giaccia, Director of Engagement and Innovation with the National Girls Collaborative Project.

  • A Keynote speech by Irma Olguin Jr., CEO and Co-Founder of Bitwise Industries.

  • Recognizing Reinventors Staff Q&A at the end of the event.

The ceremony kicked off with a “State of the Union” style update on the status of Reinvented Magazine, the impact it has had over this past year, and some of the exciting new projects that Reinvented staff are working on. This update included the Reinvented Magazine Honors, an award for organizations and individuals whose involvement ensured the success of the organization.
